The average person spends 55 minutes looking for things each day. With kids, I'm sure that number is even higher. (How do my kids' shoes get misplaced every morning??)
So today, let's grab some of that precious time back with these tips:
Create homes. Designate a place in your home for key items like keys, kid shoes, and your purse.
Use technology. Buy a Tile for your keys, so you can find them with your phone. And, use Google Home or Alexa to find your phone by ringing it even when on silent.
Look where it should be. If you do misplace something, instead of looking quickly everywhere. Do a deep search for the item around where it's supposed to be. So if you lost your phone by the bed, look behind the headboard and underneath it.
Clean. If you lose something, use it as an opportunity to clean. You will most likely find what you are looking for, and the time isn't wasted.
Ask your kids. Kids are incredibly observant. Ask them to help look or where they last saw something. Mine at least are usually right.
Buy multiples. For smaller items buy another to live where it's used. For example, I added scissors near our basement freezer and in our first aid kit. This means I have what I need when I need it.
